Thinking back to all the years of my schooling, I realized that none of them were close to the importance of this year. This small portion of my life could be the difference between living with a sense of obligation or a life of enrichment. My daily routine has been changed and now includes a novel, creative thinking, and school, also with a total absence of television. The next thing I found to be important was an overall sense of balance in the mind, and that led to goals and plans devoted to physical health and body form. Looking back from my death bed and having a feeling of pure satisfaction towards life is all I need. To be able to make a noticeable difference in the world would be pretty fulfilling in a strange way to me personally. Open Question: How do I get my son to try new foods?

My son is 8, and I have always had a problem with him trying different foods. He has very specific (and mostly unhealthy) foods that he likes and refuses to try anything new. Pretty much everything he eats is carb or pasta based - spaghetti, pizza, etc. My husband laughingly says that he only eats things that are brown, yellow, white or red (meat, potatoes, corn, and tomato-based products). I have tried having him help me prepare dinner, and while he loves the cooking, he refuses to eat. I have tried having him just take one bite to taste a new item, but anything he doesn't want to eat causes a gag reflex so bad that he will throw up right at the table. I have tried just not letting him eat at all, but this just makes us all feel bad. All of this ends up just making dinner a power-play, which is stressful to everyone involved. His drinking habits are good. He pretty much only drinks milk and water, with an occasional sweet tea if we go out somewhere. So I'm not worried about that. And he understands the importance of a good diet. He gets the whole vitamins and growing up healthy logic, he just won't follow it. We have even had his doctor talk to him to no avail. I do sneaking things whenever I can - I grate carrots into the spaghetti, I'll put squash into the food processor and then add it to the mac & cheese. But I know it isn't really enough and I worry about his unhealthy eating habits. He is not overweight - in fact he is tall and lean. I make sure he has a vitamin everyday. But I don't know what else to do. Should I just let this go as something we should address when he is a little older? I am 15 and been depressed for 5 years. Over the last two months I beat depression but the sense of apathy/emotional numbness is still there. I do not even feel sad like I used to, I just feel empty. I have never seen a doctor but when I was depressed I did alot of research on my condition to help me understand it better, to try and overcome it. I recently tried to contact my doctor and i saw him then he said he wud refer me to a threapist or counciller. I have no reply but I have tried a few times over the months but they say they will get in contact when they do not Also about the intrusive thoughts, they make my spine tingle. I won't be thinking of anything of importance and random disgusting thoughts will spring into my head, mostly sexual. This is probarbly coz i was touched wen i was younger but i dont know tbh, just a sudden idea. Sometimes things like hitting people to shut them up or knocking them out come into my mind, i had a few where killing pops into my mind. These violent thoughts don't really bother me, but the sexual things make me shiver and feel weird. It disturbs me witch not many things do. My mind constantly in its own world and i always analyse things. I am quite socially awkward but do try to socialise but most of my friendships are superficial. I just pretend to act normal, like putting on a mask for each emotion I fake. People that get close to me or family annoy me and grate on me and I do not no why. I love my own company and i am quite introverted in some ways. I try to get myself out but alot of the time lack motivation. Going out and putting on to many masks drains me physically and mentally. Its been 7 long months, Ive been to jail, done everything I could to save "us" when she left. Here is my story. . I was there, I listened to her wants, needs, her dreams, I was that man she needed. Me yeah its hard to believe but I am the guy. I have learned allot about myself in the past few months that's for sure. I have been forced to look in the mirror and discovered a whole new outlook on people, places, dreams, children, money, and most important love. I had only a perception of these things through the eyes of my ignorant past. I didn't know or see or really take the time to care of the importance and the different roles people have in others lives. I do now and I hurt everyday because she gave me her heart all of it, I didn't do what I always kinda knew I should have I didn't know how. To worried about worldly things and what others judged me by made me forget or not able to see and understand what the true things that bring us happiness are. I am a different person, its night and day. I have been brought to my knees time and time again. She has not spoken to me other than in court since March 4th, she had been left out for so long and her feelings and needs dismissed that she no longer has it in her to take the time to see me for me. She told my friend the other day that she loves me with all of her heart she just doesn't think I will change. I have I have. Because of this damn order and as well as her mother she doesn't or can't bring herself to even see. october 14th divorce is scheduled. I will walk away that day a dead man. Time will never heal what has happened and I will never forgive myself until I know she can forgive me. Its easier for her to hide and pretend the world with me in it never existed. I know she cries at night I know she is doing what she is because to her its past the point of return. The attention she has received and the guys who tell her all she wants to hear make it easier to live like she is. Thats not the woman I married that's not who she is. A few days into it we started texting. everything was cool until her mom got ahold of her phone (shes 32 BTW) and called the cops had me arrested. At the hearing for the no contact order The judge forced me into a no contact by consent aggreement. If I didn't agree to it I was told I was to do 21 days in jail for the violation. So obviously I agreed to it thinking since the judge had said 4 time my wife could drop it at any time, I figured she would. I'm 15 years old, an only child and I live with my mum and dad. Basically, my dad criticises every single thing I do and has done so for as long as I can remember, and I am not exaggerating. He used to criticise my about my weight when I was younger and a little round, and fight with my mum over what she fed me. I lost a lot of weight recently and he started on how skinny I am and asks me why I'm too lazy to join a gym, despite me having already joined a gym to shed the pounds. He's never satisfied with my grades, and makes it a point to read out the marks of nationwide toppers while making snide comments. If I do extremely well in a subject it's taken for granted and if I do badly he criticises me and tells me I waste time. When a prof says anything good about me he will always snigger, snort or sneer. If I read anything another than my textbooks he'd take it away from me and tell me to study, despite that being the reason I did well in my english exams. If I don't hang out with my friends often enough he'll tell me that I have no "real" friends and that I'm too cold and snobbish to ever get any, and if I spend too much time with them I'm not giving enough importance to my studies, and if I study and don't go out I'm accused of not having a social life. I could go on but I'm just driving myself into a depression. Naturally, I have absolutely no self-confidence and I can hardly wait to go to college, which according to him I will never get into since my grades aren't good enough. The Freedom of Speech means that everyone has the right to hold opinions without interference, and shall have the right to the freedom of expression. Everyone has a different opinion and should not be forced to change their opinion. Many people have different opinions. People have the right to say anything they want and/or their opinion even though not everyone will agree with it. For example, “Fahrenheit 451 is a great book and everyone must read it.” That does not mean everyone will agree with this. It is fine for people to share their opinions and should be careful of what they say because words can hurt another person’s feelings. It is very important for the novel to teach us what happened in the past and what we learned from it. If we don’t learn our mistake, we could repeat the same tragic event that happened in the past. It’s best to learn about the important event in history and how they influence today’s life. If people do not learn history then the same appalling event would be repeated. For example, there would be another world at war. Again, it is very important for the people to learn their mistakes in history and learn how not to repeat it. The technology is always welcome in our world but it does have some negative aspects depending on how you use it. Doing a research and studying important things is a positive thing to do. On the other, playing too much games and using social sites too often such as Facebook belongs on the negative side. Either technology can help you in a good way or in a bad way. People should use the technology in the right way instead of doing things too often that are not important. These messages are very appropriate and is excellent for all readers to read. Again, the novel teaches us different things and what we learn from it. If there are no books for us to read then it be a treacherous world to live in. It would be hard to find a place to live and have peace. People are lucky to learn history and how to prevent the tragic events from happening again. more

I had a grey Djungarian, who never even tried to bite (exept the bars when he wanted out of the cage) and now I got a white djungarian (or cambel mix you never know in pet shops what you get exactly) and he is "exploring" everything with his mouth. (example my clothes he wants to eat them, my fingers, anything really) He hasn't bitten to purposely hurt yet (exept a vet, but she injected him so I guess that was self defense) But I miss not having to think that my hamster will nibble on me (of course I don't wanna get bitten) So the question is... Will he grow out of it? Or does anyone know if white ones just are a bit more agressive than grey? The white one is now aprox 7-9 weeks if that is of importance. "How can one commit theft in prayer?" his companions asked, The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) replied "By skipping on the complete performance of bows and prostration’s." In the Qur'an it says: "Surely prayer is a timed ordinance for the believers" (4:103). "Guard (your) prayers and the most excellent prayer, and stand up truly obedient to Allāh" (2:238). "Woe to the praying ones, who are unmindful of their prayers, who pray to be seen ,and withhold alms" (107:4-7). So, we should all pray, pray on time, and pray as perfectly as we can. I am 23 and there is no way this is gonna be the best shape I'll ever be in I started working out several years ago and the gains seemed immediate. I know the importance of not over doing it, but I'm at the point where my body can handle heavy cardio and weight training for hours on end everyday 7 days a week, no problem. My diet hasn't always been the best but it's getting decent and better everyday. I don't always stick to the same routine, I switch it up every month or two. I fear I may have peaked physically and any exercise I do now is just maintaining. It sucks because I look around and I know people who work half as hard as me and have twice as much gains. Open Question: Good, Standard Def or High Def, Secondary Camera?

I'm looking to do live broadcasting of some events, with a prosumer camcorder being camera 1 and mounted on a Steadicam. I also understand the importance of having a secondary camera to switch to while I'm positioning the next Steadicam shot. My current plan is having a secondary camera mounted at the top of a long pole, raised high into the air, with a downward angle on the scene for an overall perspective. Since this is from a distance, I don't need anything with quality matching my prosumer camcorder, nor do I have the funding to purchase anything of that level. Can anybody recommend something like a USB webcam that can at least give good standard def video, and I could get really cheap? I mean $75 cheap. All I really need is a second angle, not an equally good camera, so I'll take anything I can get for that price. Again this is live broadcasting, so either a webcam or a cheap camcorder that can use a capture card. Thanks! more

Open Question: How does one vote when neither party is what you want and third part candidates have little chance of winning?

I have a hard time voting, because there are things from each political party that I like, all of equal importance. Both parties, democrats and republicans, seem to be so extreme. Democrats are at the extreme left and Republicans are at the extreme right. And I don't fit into either of those camps. I've tried voting Libertarian or Green, but I know they have very little chance of actually winning and I feel like I am wasting my vote. Here's my dilemmas. I don't support, nor am I against same sex marriage. I don't believe it is the role of the government to say who can and can not marry. I believe the government should grant everyone civil unions, and that the religious institution of your choosing can grant you a marriage. Since I believe marriage is a covenant between you, your spouse, and God I don't see the validity of marriages granted by the government. I feel VERY STRONGLY on this issue. I don't really like abortion, and I think it's wrong, but I don't believe it's the government's role to regulate what goes on between a woman and her doctor. I feel VERY STRONGLY about this issue. I believe that all citizens, who have not been convicted of a crime or proven themselves to be a danger to society, should have the unrestricted right to own weapons. I believe in lower taxes and lower spending, not the higher taxes/higher spending of the Democratic party or the lower taxes/higher spending of the Republican party. Who can I vote for? more

Open Question: My 6 year old has become very disrespectful towards me?

Over the summer I've noticed my six year old son acting very disrespectful towards me. Especially in front of my husband. If I tell him to sit down and eat his food at the table he'll whine and say "but I want to eat in front of the TV!" I'll be consistent and tell him no, we eat at the table. After having to repeat myself a couple times my husband will jump in and tell him to sit down and eat. My son will then give me a remark like "I listen to Daddy, not Mommy" or "I listen to Daddy 'cause he's my favorite and not Mommy." At first it just made me feel sad, now I'm down right angry and want to fix this issue before I have a teenager on my hands whose running out the door when I tell him to do his homework. My husband isn't much help. He just wants to get him to quit fussing as fast as possible. Most of the time his solutions start with "Why not just let him....." And telling me I'm being hard on him. The whole time my son witnessing these conversations where I'm trying to teach my son some manners and Daddy seems to be letting him have his way. I'm the only person he seems to treat like this. Everyone at school loves him, He's wonderful with his grandparents, loves spending time with his father, but seems to be just down right mean and disrespectful towards me. I'm white and my girlfriend is half black and half white. I don't think race has any importance to our relationship, but it's relevant to this question. I've noticed that when we are around a predominantly white group of people, we just get treated like any other couple. On the other hand, when we are around a predominantly black group of people, there seems to be a lot of hostility. It's one of those situations where you can feel people giving you bad looks and hear them talking about you. I don't get it. I was raised not to think that race was an issue. I never thought of somebody's race as being something about them that mattered. But it just seems so weird to me that black people would be so closed minded on this issue.
