Resolved Question: What can I do if my sister is a bad parent to her 8 month old child? (long explanation)?
My sister is 21 years old and is living with her boyfriend of 2 years and they have a 7 1/2 month old child together. The environment they are living in is terrible for a child and they are not doing anything besides taking care of the baby's most basic needs- feeding, diaper changing, etc. My sister does not work. Her boyfriend can't hold a job for more than a couple months. He got fired from a fast food job for smoking pot outside while he was on the clock, he got fired from a manual labor job for breaking equipment and being careless, he broke his foot and had to get surgery which made him lose time from another fast food job, and broke his other foot shortly after returning to work from the first injury and tried to sue (unsuccessfully) for workman's comp (which seems VERY fishy). So, neither of them are working or have a vehicle. They have a cell phone which my parents pay for, so they can get in touch with my sister and see their grandson. They always seem to have money for cigarettes and somehow manage to have marijuana as well, but rarely have food. They have recently been completely out of formula and diapers for the baby. They do receive WIC and EBT help, but my sister's BF buys groceries for other people so he can get money, so they often run out of food. We suspect him of selling formula that they get with EBT as well, because they know my family will step in and pay for things for the baby. They are unable to get the baby in for his 6 month check-up (and the baby is almost 8 months old now) because they neglected to pay the $12 a month they have set up to pay medical expenses. And, as I said, they always have cigarettes. My parents have supplied my sister with reputable parenting books, but she hasn't so much as cracked one open. The baby was crying and a friend suggested he may be teething, and what do you know, when my sister checked he had a tooth coming through. She had no idea he could be teething already. She didn't know that he should be able to sit up on his own already. She didn't know he should be eating some solid foods already. The baby rarely gets bathed. Every time he comes over to my parents' he has dirt in his skin folds around his neck, dirt under his long fingernails, etc. The lifestyle my sister and her boyfriend live is not great. They constantly have people over at their tiny, dirty apartment. Nearly all of them use drugs of some sort and do so in the apartment (marijuana is all we've seen evidence of). If there is money or if there are people that will pay for things for them there is drinking, drugs, etc. They commonly are up until the wee hours of the morning and sleep all day, making it hard for the baby to have a normal schedule. We keep waiting for my sister to shape up and want to be a better mom, but her boyfriend ends up telling her what to do, and she blindly listens to him instead of us. We either keep our mouths shut or get into fights. We've had social worker friends tell us things may change and we should be careful about if we report her. We don't even know if thing are bad enough to report. There is no physical abuse as far as we know. There have been no incidents where the baby was hurt or anything from negligence. My family always makes sure the baby is healthy and he will stay at my parents' for a night or two every once in a while. My sister is obviously depressed and clinging to her relationship with her boyfriend who has done nothing to merit any respect or trust. My parents have offered to pay for counseling for my sister, but she has declined. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice? Are there parenting classes (we're in the Twin Cities, MN, btw) that are reputable that are for at-risk families available for people? I tried doing some googling, but it was hard to find anything.Just thought I'd add that what sparked this Q was that my sis and her BF have been facing eviction and found a charity that would pay their rent for them. The baby has been with my folks for 5 days while they were working all this out. My mom said my sister doesn't have any food and asked if I could bring her something. I called her and she said she wasn't home. She and her BF were going to the casino with some friends who gave them "a few dollars" to play with. They can go to the casino, but they can't pay $12 so their child can go to the doctor! It just makes me so angry! moreResolved Question: What is the name of the company from Bern that makes these machines for use in hospitals?
Last month I ran into a businessman from Bern in Bangkok that sells these machines all over Asia. I told him I was moving to Bangkok sometime in the future, and have some past experience in sales with various medical equipment. He gave me his card and told me to contact him because he would be looking for some sales people in the near future. I lost his card and his contact information. I just know the company is based out of Bern, and they sell machines to hospitals all over Asia and Southeast Asia. If I could know the name of the company, they probably have a website where I could send my resume. Sorry for being so long winded, but this would be a very good opportunity for me. I was adopted and made to work on a farm. I was the only child. Growing up all I heard was that I was taking food out of their mouth, that I would be sent back if I didn't behave and do the work I was told to. They always borrowed farm equipment and didn't pay their bills for a year. As soon as I was old enough, I started buying junk farm equipment to fix so they would quit borrowing stuff. Over the years, I had to buy them furniture, ac units, and spent tens of thousand of dollars bailing hay for them for free and keeping them supplied in equipment. I finally got married at 40 and my mother did everything she could to stop it. The land I was promised after working the place all those years was withheld. They wouldn't even give me 1 acre to build a house on. They were in their 70's when I married so I just shrugged and said keep everything and left and bought my own land in the community. 15 years have passed and she complains to everyone in the small community about us and how she lives alone. We got her a $7,000 grant to fix her house, got her a medical alert button, arranged to have meds delivered to her house and a government van that will pick her up and take her to doctor appointments or grocery store. She _itches to everyone that will listen how we don't help her. My wife is the one that arranged all this help for her. We are paying off our land and house and can't take off to take her to appointments when their is transportation. Now, I am sick with stage 4 cancer, I don't have long to live, and she goes weeks without calling how I am. Now she is bitching at my wife for not telling her I was in the hospital. I have been hospitalized at least 9 times in the past 2 years. She has been told I am getting worse and to call more often if she wants to know how I am doing. My wife is either travelling to the hospital or nursing me at home or taking me to doctors appointments. My wife has told her she needs to call more often, that things are changing rapidly. She has not called and I am mad she is bitching at my wife, who has a full plate. With the abuse I endured as a child, I don't have much love for this woman and figure if she can't call, its no loss to me. But she is using the situation to get attention. She lives 10 minutes from me but won't visit. But now she is telling relatives and friends in this small community my wife is keeping her from visiting. I had it out with my mother and told her if she wants to know how I'm doing, just call. She claims it is too hard to call in the evenings and she forgets in the morning. Now she has a relative that wants to take her to come visit me in the hospital and I told them to wait till I get home. The relative is pissed at me for being mean to my mom. My mom puts on an act to get attention. In the past people were fooled by her act and helped her, only to hear thru a third party her complaints about them. One lady took her to the doctor, got her meds, took her to lunch, but made the"mistake" at stopping at HEB for a few groceries for herself. My mom complained to everyone, now that lady doesn't come around. My wife use to help her alot too but got tired of the complaining. We lost our business when I got sick, sold most of our farm equipment, and are holding on by the skin of our teeth to our house. This last incident has made me really bitter towards my Mom. I'm not well enough to protect my wife from this abuse that I put up with for too long. ANY IDEAS HOW TO PUT A STOP TO THIS? moreResolved Question: Is my friend lying about his salary?
He just moved to Michigan to take a position selling Medical Equipment. He is telling everyone here in Florida he is making $75,000 a year. He just graduated in spring 2010 with his BA in marketing at UCF. moreResolved Question: Walton Medical Laboratory?
Margaret Walton spent 10 years working in the laboratory at City Hospital. During that time, she advanced to the position of director of the laboratory and completed an MBA degree. She felt that opportunities for further advancement at the hospital were limited and was looking for a new challenge. She took a course in entrepreneurship and was fascinated by the idea of starting her own business. Walton decided that she would open an independent laboratory to provide medical tests for independent medical practices. She believed that she could help physicians reduce both their capital requirements and administrative chores, as well as provide more accurate testing. Walton began assembling information. She discovered a piece of land available near a number of independent medical practices. The land could be purchased for $100,000, and a suitable building would cost approximately $400,000. The building would have a useful life of approximately 40 years. Laboratory equipment would cost $1 million. The equipment would have a life of 7 years for tax purposes, but would actually last 10 years. Although the business could continue indefinitely, Walton wanted to do the analysis based on the assumption of a life similar to that of the laboratory equipment:10 years. In addition to fixed asses, working capital such as cash, supplies, receivables, and payables would be needed. Walton wanted to maintain a minimum cash balance of $20,000. She estimated that $100,000 of supplies would be needed initially, and accounts payable at $40,000. She estimated that the cash, supplies, receivables, and payables categories would double at the end of the first year and would not increase thereafter. Walton predicted revenue of $600,000 during the first year and $1,200,000 each year thereafter. She estimated that labor expenses, including a salary for her equal to what she was now earning, of $300,000 in the firs year and $480,000 each year thereafter. She estimated a supplies expense of $120,000 in the first year and $190,000 each year thereafter. SHe estimated overhead expense, other than depreciation, of $100,000 a year. Looking ahead, Walton estimated that the equipment would have a negligible value in 10 years, while the building would have lost one-fourth of tits value and the land 1 would still be worth $100,000. She guessed that supplies inventory could be sold for half its cost, and other working capital items would be settled at their book values. Walton turned her attention to financing. She had limited capital of her own and would need to seek outside investors. She had heard enough horror stories about problems that occurred when companies could not make payments on debts, and she wanted to avoid those troubles. Thus, she wanted to try to arrange all equity financing, and use a bank line of credit only for temporary needs. Walton decided on a plan involving ten wealthy investors, preferably senior retired physicians who would then serve on the board of directors. She would fund the project by creating eleven shares – one share free to herself as a founder’s share and one share to each of the investors. Each investor would then invest 10 percent of the capital requirements. Walton tentatively discussed the project with several senior retire physicians to see what would be required. They viewed this as an investment of moderate risk and indicated that they would want a 12 percent after tax return from an investment of this type. While several investors encourages her to continue, they were naturally unwilling to make a commitment without a proposal and a thorough financial analysis. Walton began to develop a profitability analysis and a proposal. She had to choose between the corporate tax form and an S form. She estimated that most investors would be in 28 percent tax brackets. All funds not needed internally would be paid out to the shareholders. She thought she could be ready to start by the first of the year, so assets would be considered placed in service in January. Case questions 1. Identify all cash flow on the assumption the business is taxed at a 28 percent tax rate. 2. Prepare a net present value analysis. 3. Does this investment provide a satisfactory rate of return to investors? 4. Is it fair and reasonable for Walton to get one-eleventh of the company without putting up equity capital of her own? moreResolved Question: Can anyone help with these accounting questions?

I investigated Medicaid Fraud for over 25 years during which time I found that many , if not most, Medicaid Recipients (Patients ) never practiced any preventive medical care or obtained routine or regular treatment & tests despite the fact that the health care was free. I also found that many Medicaid Providers ( Physicians, Dentists, Pharmacies ) rountinely engaged in the larcenous practice of billing Medicaid for massive amounts of medical services + medical equipment that were never actually furnished to the Medicaid Redcipients. Sometimes Medicaid Recipients loaned or sold their Medicaid card to others for them to use illegally . Sometimes Medicaid Recipients used their Medicaid cards to obtain prescription drugs or medical equipment to sell on the street. Sometimes Medicaid Providers & Medicaid Recipients acted in concert with each other where the Recipient assisted the Provider in billing Medicaid for medical goods or services that were never actually rendered and then they split the money received from these ficticious billings. Lastly, I observed some Medicaid Providers rendering such sub-standard life threatening unsanitary poor quality of medical care that I would not want my dog to be treated by them much less a human being. While I realize that this may not be an appealing depiction of " free health care ".....it is a true representation of what really does occur when there is " free health care " and no co-payment by the patient. Doesn't Obama understand that Obamacare will undoubtedly offer similar opportunities for the same kind of massive larcenous fraudeulent over-billings + similar opportunities for the same kind of substandard poor quality medical care and equipment ?I love your mom - You are 100 % wrong Medicaid does NOT require any co-payment as many insurances do nor do most Medicaid Recipients ever see an EOMB ( Explanation of Medical Benefits ). Medicaid Providers sometimes bill Medicaid for 12 visits or more for every 1 visit that the patient actually makes & the patient is never aware of it. In private insurance they ask for a co-payment so you know what is being charged + you get an EOMB Lastly I have seen Medicaid Providers setting up offices which do nothing except cater to narcotics addicts. I even saw one inner city " office " run in a condemned building where electricity was provided through a portable generator & water was carried in by 5 gallon plastic pails. We had an Undercover Case where a new hygenist asked the Dentist if she knew she was using the same instruments on every patient's mouth ^ the Dentist replied " What do you care ? They are all Junkies with AIDS who are going to die anyway " Grand Jury loved that tape moreVoting Question: Who is to blame for high health care costs today?
I am reading an article on CNN where a a Dr. Screiber breaks down his costs and explains how he will basically get minimum wage if medicare payments are cut. He explains that he charges $70 for a blood pressure check, medicare pays $44. He charges $92 for a visit relating to a cough, medicare pays $58. For a 30 minute visit he charges $120, medicare pays $88. I understand the equipment is also expensive and the malpractice insurance he pays is about $7000 but that is low he explains it can be as high as $100,000. It seems to me the equipment is overpriced, maybe because too few suppliers. I don;t know but having worked with high end electronic devices for many years I do not believe that most medical equipement is worth half of what it is being sold for. As far as capabilities and being advanced. It also seems that the insurance companies are charging a rediculous amount for insurance if it is $100,000 a year. If it costs that much for insurance to me that indicates that the majority of our Docs are not to be trusted with our health and well being in the first place. Thats a high cost to pay for an "uh-oh" unless the "uh-ohs" are very common and that high cost is needed to offset them. Then I would think we need a much heavier screening of Docs to justify their fees before the practice. I am thinking also that the fees he charges are ridiculous. $70 for a blood pressure check...don't most pharmacies, grocery stores and walmart do that for free? So who is to blame for high costs of health care? Doctors, Insurance or medical suppliers. Have we let them get run away like the banks by chargnig whatever they want ratehr than forcing them to have competitive pricing? moreResolved Question: Public option aside: The medical industry's cost to consumers has risen far more than any other?
instance of business (discloses government spending). What would you attribute this to? Here are some possible answers, but I'm not really sure. Frivolous Malpractice: Hundreds of millions of dollars a year in unnecessary costs which are spread to the consumer. Pharmaceutical Companies: The average cost to even introduce medicine on the market per drug is about $1,000,000.00. They use vast profits from other drugs to pay for these. Doctor's pay: At a hospital with around 100 doctors making an AVERAGE of $150,000.00 a year, the cost to pay those doctors runs 1.5 million per year. Medical School: Medical School puts doctors in debt for years after medical school (when they are making relatively small amounts of money as interns and residents), forcing their cost of living to be higher and higher in order to pay it off. (increased cost of living increases needed pay) Insurance Companies: The birth of insurance companies, though noble, allowed some dishonest doctors to charge their losses to the insurance companies through radical increase of prices for treatment normally given directly to the patient at a much lower cost. This practice became more wildly acceptable over the course of decades and is now commonly applied to increase of costs across the board (wages to equipment) (This is the one I believe in the least, because it seems to be a consequence of high cost, rather than a strong reason) Medical Equipment Medical Equipment requires high cost due to the research needed to develop it. This makes a machine that normally would cost a few thousand to make from scratch sell for several million dollars a peice. The problem is that the price doesn't decline (or doesn't decline by much) once research and development is paid off. Which of these (or any others) are key contributors to the gigantic cost of health care, which contribute very little if anything, and are there any I missed?Tally of contributing factors, 1 for medical school, 1 against doctors (doctors are not to blame for high prices) moreResolved Question: I am trying to sell a ohmeda trusat pulse oximeter, used for a few months. "Heart specialists on Monday filed suit against Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius in an effort to stave off steep Medicare fee cuts for routine office-based procedures such as nuclear stress tests and echocardiograms. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, charges that the government's planned cutbacks will deal a major blow to medical care in the USA, forcing thousands of cardiologists to shutter their offices, sell diagnostic equipment and work for hospitals, which charge more for the same procedures. "What they've done is basically killed the private practice of cardiology," says Jack Lewin, CEO of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), which represents 90% of the roughly 40,000 heart specialists in the USA." http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2009-12-23-heart29_ST_N.htm?csp=24&RM_Exclude=JunoSo would you say the cardiologists should stop taking Medicare patients? Why don't the people of the USA demand from their politicians a health system like we have in the UK. My wife & I are pensioners and she is undergoing nerve conduction tests, MRI's and X-rays to help her neurological condition. I too am receiving hospital care for an injured arm. We have paid for this throughout our working lives and now are receiving 'free' attention without fear of losing our savings. The doctors who see us also work in the private sector so quality of care is equal. I read of medical equipment being sold by US manufacturers to Europe for $5,000 but 'at home' for $15,000. Why do not the people of the US rebel against the medical and drug manufacturers who are fearful of loss of their wealth?Intersting early responses. Surprisingly angry though. How protective US citizens are of their financial masters. Your are not protecting your private rights. You're being conned out of your earnings. If we in the UK are experiencing 'socialized medicine' I pray we continue to do so. Perhaps your idea of UK ctizens' view of their 'poor' health service is coloured by media coverage with extreme right wing motives. My experiences of the NHS is pride and relief that I have contentment in retirement.A UK update. Today my wife had an hour on the MRI machine and two hours later another hour with a consultant (who also works in the private sector) having conduction tests (on the nerves). Ipswich hospital was clean and all staff were polite and helpful. Next week I will have an hour in Colchester Hospital with physiotherapy for an arm muscle strain. That hospital too is immaculately clean. And, her being disabled, we get free parking!! And the cost to us? Nothing. We are proud of the peace of mind we get here in the UK. In the US I guess I would have had to sell my house by now moreVoting Question: Darby runs an illegal numbers racket. His gross revenues are $550,000, and he incurs the following expenses:?

I run a medical supplies business in my home town. One day, a certain man approached me for assistance. He was to bid in a tender to supply and deliver some medical equipment which he claimed to literary have no knowledge about. On agreement that he would pay me for the services at the end of successful completion of the transaction. On that basis, we left discussing how much he was to pay me for latter. As per agreement, i guided this man through the tender (i.e cost prices, selling price and supporting catalogs plus warranty details). It was also further agreed i would have to import the products according to the costs i gave to him. A few weeks latter, he was given orders to supply two of the items he bid for. This man then decided to betray my trust. He bought one item directly using the information on the catalog and only came to me for the product that did not have full contact details on the catalog. He gave me part payment towards purchase of this item promising to bring the balance a few days latter so that i could import that one piece. As we spent time together, he managed to get information about my source for the same and also secretly ordered the same item he paid for to me. A few days latter, he came back to claim the money he paid in as deposit. When i tried to negotiate for my commission and consultation fee, he refused and reported me to the police for theft by agent. I agreed to pay him back 50% of the deposit through the police some 11 days back and i have received a court summon for Theft by agent from our local prosecutor. Am i at risk of conviction for he same? Especially that all our agreements were verbal. moreResolved Question: Can someone here please critique my resume... be honest, not mean?

Hello, I have a small company that distributes medical equipment. At the moment we're trying to sell culture media. These are used in laboratories to expose bacteria or find bacteria in different substances or matter. The products are a lot and the thing I did'nt study chemistry, their explanation is not that hard to understand but doesnt give you a clue where to sell them or which industry uses them. Any clue where I can find a better guide to identify these areas or business? Thank youWell its a new area and the products were given to us recently. No chance for a market research. moreResolved Question: Would more international outsourcing help reduce the 16.6% of GDP the U.S. spends on health care?
People travel to India for surgeries now, and the cost is much cheaper there, even including the airfare. The care is also very good. This probably is not covered by private insurance and would not be under any of the proposals even if people were forced to buy health insurance. Mandatory health insurance would probably result in people having much more expensive surgeries here, because they had already paid the premiums. If the federal government looked at international options for Medicare, some of those costs could be brought down. There must be foreign vendors for wheelchairs and other durable medical equipment who would sell at competitive prices and not require monthly contracts and provide reasonably priced maintenance. Also, why not negotiate with Mexico to set up long care facilities where the cost of labor is cheaper? A percentage of people in our nursing homes do not get any visitors anyway, and this option would allow their money to last longer. moreResolved Question: Did you know the new healthcare plan by the Finance Committee taxes device manufacturers $4 billion?
Better yet, do you know the reason why? Well it's pretty sneaky, really! Device manufactures make such thinks as EKG's, CAT Scanners, Lab Test Equipment, every surgical instrument ever made, x-ray, etc. And guess who pays for these devices? The patient. Each patient is charged a use fee based on all the devices in the room with the exception of major devices called "capital equipment." Those are billed in the service, such as MRI, CAT scanner, lab test, etc. And who are the patients? 80% are the already insured. IOW, 80% of the patients are going to pay for the taxes on the Device Manufacturers, which will help cover the uninsured that will be covered on the government plan. So you might ask yourself, "Why don't they just tax us instead?" Answer: "You would then know." They don't want you to know. This way, it is almost hidden and they can say they are not taxing you, but taxing those great big rich medical companies. The problem here, unlike the Pharmaceutical companies, most of the best Device Manufacturers are based right here in the USA. No we don't import devices from China or Japan yet, as we are the best at making these things... next best is the UK. Not China, not Japan, not India... only the USA. Believe me, that pacemaker inside your chest was most likely made by Medtronic (Minneapolis, MN), the world leader... ditto that stent that allowed you to avoid open heart surgery... the same products 120 other countries use. So what will our companies do that are taxed so much? Clearly they will sell and concentrate their efforts at locations that will make them the most money... IOW, outside the USA. And with each device, it is governed just like a drug so it goes through FDA testing. These are called "Trials." Many of our schools, doctors, and teaching hospitals are given grants by the device manufacturers to do these trials. Once concentrated in other countries, the dollars will go there and to their medical institutions. Isn't it a shame that a "Finance Committee" would screw us instead of control our/their finances. Folks, it is nothing more than a tax and will drive one of the few high technology companies that are still viable here in the USA into other countries. Who the heck is running the show here anyway?========== No mmm_soylentgreen... this is the real deal. Even a number of democrats are against this. Of course some of these are in states that employ a number of device manufacturing employees. I think what you'll see is a big concern about making it hard for manufacturing companies to compete, but the truth is that it's a sham to find some way to pay for this plan without most people knowing where it is coming from. Also understand that Device Manufacturers do not have the lobby that the Drug manufacturers do.========== http://www.medicaldevices.org/public/ moreResolved Question: Working msia or oversea?

Doctors and hospitals spend some amount of money (probably a lot) on redundant and even unnecessary tests and procedures due to fear of being sued for malpractice, not to mention the overabundance of paperwork that follows patients around these days. I have a lot of belonging I need to sell. Medical equipment, sporting goods, toys, books, over 450 pieces of baby clothes, shoes, hats, blankets, bedding, etc. I really need the money for daycare expenses and groceries as his father has not paid child support in weeks. I have my son 7 days a week right now because his dad is 'too busy', but that's another story. Anyway, I need to have a yard sale, but I don't know how to run a sale and watch my son. I live in an 2nd story apartment and I was told I could use the parking area to set up. I know my son would sleep till at least 8:30, and I have baby monitors, but when he wakes up, he'll need breakfast, entertainment, and I know he won't want to stay outside as we don't have any outdoor toys for him to play with. Plus, I would be uneasy with him running around where cars and strangers are. I don't have family near me as they have all moved away very recently. I can't think of anyone that would be willing (or that I would trust) to watch him that early (7 or 8am) in the morning. Has anyone dealt with this before? Am I just going to have to give up on the yard sale idea? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and a best answer will be chosen today (10pts!). Sport and recreation career assignment Athletic trainers assess sports injuries, providing appropriate treatment, and educating athletes on injury-prevention programs as well as healthy lifestyles. Trainers help with rehabilitation after an injury. An athletic trainer works with school sports teams, professional sports, or in sports medicine clinics or health clubs. Trainers work in collaboration with physicians and coaches, insuring that treatment plans are followed and athletes are not returned to the game prematurely. Trainers can work full-time year round or on a seasonal basis which varies with each sport. Students should study biology, chemistry, and physics as well as basic first-aid. Some coaching or experience as a team captain is preferable. Bachelor’s and master’s degrees are available in athletic training. An authorized program includes courses such as human anatomy and physiology, psychology, nutrition, and physical education plus extensive field experience. Athletic trainers also need good social and communication skills because they are constantly working with people. Athletic Trainer salaries vary depending on the location and the setting. The average salary is $18.44 per hour, which totals up to about $38,360 per year, comparing to a personal trainer, fitness trainer or aerobic instructor they make a good amount of money. Of coarse though, like every job the salary usually starts smaller and when the amount of hours and experience is increased so does the salary range. Along with this job there are many advantages and disadvantages. Being a personal trainer has its benefits, like you get a free membership to any gym you work at, and meet great people. Teaching a class is also a good workout for yourself. Some cons are it is extremely tiring, physically demanding and is lots of competition out there. You have lots of laundry all the time (being sweaty does that). There are a number of ways for athletic trainers to advance or move into related positions. Some assistant athletic trainers could become head athletic trainers and, eventually become athletic directors. Some athletic trainers may even move into sales and marketing positions, in this field they are able to use their athletic trainer expertise to sell medical and athletic equipment. The appropriateness of this field for myself is not a type of field I would be looking into for when considering what to do with my life. Being an athletic trainer would be a lot of work and would mean I would need to be extremely well fit. I am fit but teaching other people how to be fit and helping them out, is something that I simply not interested in pursuing. I would also need a lot of schooling because you need to know about muscles and first aid. thanks moreResolved Question: Help, I need advice on a legal separation?
My husband (AKA jerk) of 20 yrs is turning this into a huge fight. I don't want to fight. I am dealing with a pain disorder & am under medical care and I am seriously unable to work. He wants to kick me out with $7000 worth of CC debt (ours, but in my name) and claim he's in debt for $150K. He has assets, like a small 4 seater plane, construction equipment, work vehicles and tons of small things like computers, office equipment, etc. He has a great job but is threatening to quit to "prove" he couldn't afford to help me financially. I've asked him ONLY for financial help with food & medicine. I'm applying for disability but it takes a couple years and a lawyer, so I can't rely on that. I'm stuck. I'm seeking legal advice tomorrow (if I can find one to offer free advice since Wyatt Earp refuses to give me more then $100 for groceries.) I have until July 1, he's selling the house we're living in now (for $700,000 and they need in by July 1st, however he's "claiming" that all the money is going to pay off his business debt and that it will still leave him in the hole for $150K.) I don't want to fight, I don't want anything really. Is that stupid or what? I know and I will fight if I have too, though. What I DO need is advice. He claims that he is not financially responsible for me if we're legally separated. Is that true? I have made copies of financial records that I found but it only basically proves that he is indeed in debt. Thankfully, my name isn't on any of it except the $7000 CC's. He told me that I am responsible for his debt as well (even though its 100% work related and my name is NOT on any of it.) But is that true? Can he fight me in court and make me responsible for HIS debt? Can I get him to pay off the $7000? Is he legally responsible to at least provide me something to cover regular expenses and medicines? If so, how will it happen since he's trying to prove he's in so much debt and can't afford to? I'm willing to go through bankruptcy if I have too, but would rather NOT since I have great credit and it's just $7000 and I KNOW he could pay for it, but he won't. He's not physically abusive but he is mentally, emotionally and verbally abusive, he's also not mentally stable but I can't get him any help with that (that's a whole other story) and I know none of this is easily proven. We have no children. We're in Alaska, I have family that I CAN go to in California if I have too, but don't want to. If I did go there though, would that change things with legalities in a separation or divorce? So any help or advice or suggestions are needed. I know I said I'm seeking a lawyer tomorrow, but I'm so anxious about it right now since we just came to the conclusion we'll be separated and that he's going to be a jerk about it. What can I do to help myself?
This is going to be long, but it's a somewhat desperate cry for help, and I really have no idea where else to go with it. I am a 24-year-old college student on my third major; I decided to switch from something I knew how to do, to pursue a lucrative job I'd probably hate (computers), to something I like and will continue to love to do, though it's not as lucrative (teaching literature). Last year, I moved on from a community college to a University, and I'm now broke. Last year, I moved back in with my mother; my parents have been divorced for 6 years. My father quit his medical practice in my hometown, moved across the country, quit his job there, and is now filing for bankruptcy and does not pay my mother alimony. My mother lost her job a couple of weeks ago working for a land company, and cannot file for unemployment. She has a master's degree in business, but her degree is "old", and at 52, she is having difficulty competing with younger people. She does not have a lot of money, since in the divorce, my father took most of our "stuff", and she was left with our property - which isn't selling. Just after the divorce, I sold most of my stuff - movies, books, DVDs, video games, computer equipment, even furniture - to save money for college expenses. For a couple of years, it was just fine - I had just enough spending money and a steady enough job that paid enough and had enough hours that I could focus on my classes and not have much to worry about while I lived at home and helped pay for groceries and such. Well, that all changed pretty quickly. Last summer, my car broke down - the transmission blew while pulling out of a parking lot. I had to wind up buying a new car. There goes a lot of money, right there. After that, a theater group I'm in went to Salem, Massachusetts to do some research on the Salem Witch Trials for the play, The Crucible. I wound up having to take my car, because I was the only other person with a reliable automobile for the long trip besides the one car we had already planned to be taking. Which meant that I needed to buy new tires. Some people pitched in for gas, and everyone paid for their hotel room, but as the trip went on, I wound up covering a lot of expenses. I spent $1800 in a single weekend buying tires, gas, food, drinks, tours, books, and props for the play. I was paid for about $70 worth of props and a fair amount of the gas from everyone. Not a single person paid me back for the food and drinks I wound up buying, or the tour tickets I bought them. Some people bought me dinner at later dates and such, but I didn't get paid back. I'm a college student, I can't afford to throw that kind of money down on a weekend excursion. But, I did. I have since not trusted anyone to borrow money from me. Later that summer, I was in a car accident with my (now-ex) girlfriend. I spent a week in the hospital and suffered a closed head injury that has affected and continues to affect my memory and attention, to the point where I basically read at a snail's pace. Doesn't bode well for classes, especially for classes in my particular field of study (English/Education/Literature). Worst part is, my insurance didn't initially pay for anything at all. I was airlifted from the accident - cost $900. My anesthesia still hasn't been paid for, don't remember how much that was. One of my surgeries wasn't even initially covered - I wound up ponying up for a lawyer, with my mother's help, which helped us to get them to pay for most of it, finally - then we had to pay the lawyer, of course. It's still ongoing. Anesthesia still isn't paid for. We still can't afford it ourselves, either. After the accident, I had a hard time going back to real life. I couldn't move to where I had planned because I couldn't take a full load of classes that semester, move, and find a new job without being completely overwhelmed, so I stayed at home and took 2 classes and went back to work as I had been. As far as work goes, my workplace was told by one of my doctors to only have me work 8 hours per week, because of my mental condition (I still tend to get pretty overwhelmed by things) - at 8.50 an hour, that's not a lot of money. I received a month of lost wages, and am supposedly to be paid 80% of the difference between my 8-hour weeks and what I would otherwise be working since that month, but I haven't seen a dime. I'm also buying audiobooks and cliff's notes to help with my reading and retention, which my insurance company is supposed to help pay for. They haven't done that, either. I used to work as an English tutor for local high school students; I still get calls about it every so often, and I still try to do a little bit of work. It pays pretty well ($20/hour sometimes) for the short periods of time I get to do it, but it takes a lot out of me. I buy copies of all the required readings at the local high schools and keep up on those books, on top of the own that I have for my classes. moreVoting Question: IS H.M.I INC. You have been asked to provide a projection for business in the next five years. What economic tools would you use to provide projections for future business, what products might be needed and the type of personnel the company will need for the future? Currently the company not only sells products but provides training to doctors and hospitals on the technology used in some of the medical equipment you sell and lease to the medical community. Also, what projections would you provide the strategic team as for the potential business picture - using economic indicators, would your business likely grow or are you in a decreasing market? My brother found that he LOVES to write so we wanted to get some others opinions, please let me know what you think. I'm sure he would like to get some of your opinions. If you would like to read more let me know and I will send you some more :D Thanks for your time. Robert Salvatore woke up to what felt like a normal day in Xenon city. A cold, dark city made completely of steel and computer technology. During a Xenon winter, the temperature could drastically change from fifty degrees below zero, to one hundred and eighty above. He awoke to the crisp, cold, metallic air beginning to cycle through his estates oxygen filters, but he did not mind the metallic air; he had been exposed to it since he was a very young boy about the age of three. Robert tapped a flat-screened button on a panel in front of him. The bed, a sleeping capsule, slowly ejected from the wall and tilted forward for him to step out. His home didn’t seem like it normally was. There was no smell of the androids, which every morning cooked him his food and brought it up to his room. It was hard to come by “real” food in Xenon anymore; it was all simulations and meal capsules now. Robert was rich. He had shimmering, wavy black hair with which he combed to the right. He had pale, silky white skin which seemed to glow like the moon in the dark night sky, and deep sky blue eyes, which were cold and seemed full of hate, As if he had been through much pain and suffering, causing his soul to be numb. Robert Salvatore used to be a police officer in Xenon, a high-ranking police captain. He resigned due to cruel laws being passed that sickened him, and that would sicken anyone to see what the XCPD had done. The police officers were trained to their breaking point. They had no emotions anymore; they would arrest people within 15 feet of the police department prison stairs, they would murder someone whom was “too close” to them, or the chief. The chief, a tall, slender man about the age of 29, whom went by the title “lord” Arcus, was a cruel, harsh man. He was once a friend of Robert’s but a tragic incident happened in the marketplace one day, about two years before Robert’s resignation, where his parents, siblings, and friends were all killed during an invasion including two of Xenon’s biggest gangs. That is why Lord Arcus was such a cold, cruel, hateful man. Upon Robert’s resignation, he solemnly swore to oppose the Xenon police. He smuggled out 150 cargo crates of high-ranking police equipment to bring to the rebel bases in the lower levels of Xenon. He sold most of the materials. He sold what ever he had in the stock market, supplies he no longer needed, and pieces of furniture and weapons he had crafted and produced himself. He paid for many years of education with the money he had earned. He learned advanced medical procedures, carpentry, programming, gunsmithing, merchanting, mechanics, and many more skills such as advanced math, etc. and quickly became the richest, most intelligent man in Xenon city. Although he was extremely rich, he wanted more in life; much, much more. He knew of a mine full of gold, possibly billions of dollars worth just past the police station and down the road next to it. Was he going to risk being caught near the mine and possibly get arrested? Or would he sneak out after the ten o’clock curfew set by police? The most dangerous time of the day; night, in Xenon was full of bandits, assassins, other rebels, and animals even the most powerful of police could not come to capture. Robert decided to go and attempt to get into the mine during night. Despite the risk of being mugged, or possibly killed during pitch black of night, He knew that during an Xenon winter, nobody would ever want to go out during night anyway. The temperature on a Xenon winter’s night could reach two hundred degrees below zero. Everybody stayed inside with the nuclear heating to keep warm, and if someone did not have a home, they would go into the Xenon subway tunnels and bundle up next to a barrel they would build a fire in. Robert also knew that he could keep warm with his white silk suit with thermal plates build into it would keep him alive in the cold night air and also help him blend into the snow. Robert just had to figure out how he was going to get into that mine. Two weeks after the first tunnel had been dug, leading to a big underground cavern, the walls covered in ice and the miners had to leave until it heated up. That night however, a rock slide appeared in front of the mine and blocked anyone from getting in. The police would not assist either, because the excuse that they were “protecting” the citizens of Xenon. Robert knew that this was even more of a bonus. Nobody was able to get into the mine, so nobody else would be at the mine to risk meeting. That meant that there was also generators and heaters in the mine and he could keep himself warm for a long time with them. That is, if they have any fuel in the moreSelling Medical Equipment News
